  1. Red eGay -50mm T4/T5 Springs

Firstly these springs are not suitable for Caravelle’s or Multivan’s as these generally left the factory already -30mm lower than a standard T4 Transporter; these springs are all based on a T4 Transporter which is 30mm higher therefore if you buy any i.e.: -50mm springs they will only lower your T4 Caravelle/Multivan appx -20mm!
As many of you think T4′s R Us would be biased as we manufacturer our own springs – that is not the case, we believe in giving an honest opinion on all the springs we sell.

    Well…
T4′s R Us has refused to sell these springs for over 3 years – they are RUBBISH and not recommended for anyone to use unless they were desperate!

Buy cheap buy twice…Do you really think buying suspension for £50-£60 will give you the suspension you really want or need???

Different springs suit different T4′s and each person has a slightly different idea of what they want or need from their suspension.

Warranty? I believe these have a 12 month warranty, however after some bedroom trader on eBay has had your money do you think he will worry about the warranty???

We hear you say but I’m on a budget! We understand this, however when you have to repeat buy then it is not so much of a bargain. If you buy the correct springs for you T4 the first time then you save yourself time and money.

Pros: Cheap. Widely Available. Colour (haha)
Cons: Made in China. Inconsistent. Poor Quality.
    Buy cheap buy twice!

  2. T4′s R Us Springs

The ONLY suitable solution spring for a Caravelle is the -50mm with Lowering Plates.

We have manufacturered our own springs now for over 3 years and in all honesty we have only had 1 set returned! To me that speaks volumes and it’s not the case of we have only sold 100 pairs, our springs are our best seller month after month.

The springs we have made are -40mm, -60mm, -85mm and -50mm HD; the springs are appx drops however they are a much better indication of how much your van will lower than the RED EGBAY -??mm
A few of our customers say: My van is not a low as my friends van who bought -55mm RED springs as explained in the review on these springs it can be that if they are new springs that they have not been made to a high standard or if they are old springs that the springs have actually collapsed and your friend has NO suspension left!
T4′s R Us Springs the original springs i.e. -60mm not compared to my mates van.

These are great springs at a very reasonable price and have provided us with the reputation we have today amongst the T4 enthusiasts. We also have 4 types of springs to suit all different drops and uses.

  3. H&R -40mm Springs

H&R have been in business for over 25 years so i would say that they have a little experience in manufacturing and testing springs.

These are a good all round springs suited for a Short Wheel Base (SWB) and a Long Wheel Base (LWB) if used as a Workhorse or a Camper, an excellent alternative to KW or Weitec, although not as Heavy Duty as KW or Weitec. The H&R springs we have in our Sport Springs and will improve handing as well as lowering @ -40mm. Great value for money @ £189.99 for T4 Transporter and £249.99 for T5 Transporter.

    This is what H&R say:
“As the first spring manufacturer worldwide, H&R delivers TÜV approved spring sets for more than 25 years.
With more than 900 different sport spring sets the product range of H&R is today one of the world’s most comprehensive options to individualize cars and vans. Combinable with OE as well as nearly any other type of sport shock absorbers, H&R spring sets offer an inexpensive but high quality possibility to experience sportivity by yourself.
Ultra high performance cars like the Porsche Carrera GT, 996 GT II and GT III are equipped with H&R springs, while Mercedes Benz chose them for its supercar, the CLK DTM AMG which is directly derived from the DTM CLK.”

“In the 1970’s, Mr. H and Mr. R recognized a need among the automotive industry and driving enthusiasts for improved suspension components over marginal stock offerings. Each having had years of professional and personal automotive experience, the Mr.’s H&R were familiar with the limitations of vehicle manufacturers’ stock suspensions. Their response to this perceived need established the H&R program. Werner Heine and Heinz Remmen combined their similar interests, years of driving experience, and suspension expertise to design, manufacture, and produce the highest quality springs. Their commitment to doing it right and producing quality products allowed them to obtain both TÜV and ABE certification—the highest quality and safety standards in Germany. Their commitment to doing it right continues today.

Over the years, H&R has developed a diverse line of products and suspension applications for the street. The first European company to introduce TÜV approved lowering springs, H&R is also the originator of the true coil over suspension system for the street and a full line of hub-centric wheel spacers. From our springs, to our cup kits and sway bars, every suspension application is designed to be vehicle specific—all of our products are in-house manufactured with the highest quality materials and produced to enhance handling potential, personal style, and retain vehicle ride comfort. Here at H&R, we are receptive to customer input, as we believe it is important to manufacture products that meet consumer needs. We listen to our customer’s needs, tastes, and style demands, all of which directly helps inform our products.

H&R products are designed and manufactured in Germany and exceed ISO quality assurance standards. H&R has an established heritage of industry respect and customer confidence due to the quality of our products and the definitive edge we give our customer’s vehicles. When you install H&R, you know you’re getting the best the industry has to offer—and the fact that your vehicle will have a correct stance, improved looks, and quality German performance components to get you excited about—those are just details. Over the years, H&R Special Springs has had many impressionists, but none can match our passion for bringing people and cars together. From the beginning, the Mr’s H&R, leaders and innovators, have directly influenced the aftermarket suspension industry with their expertise and commitment to quality—and will continue to do so.

H&R. The original—and still the best!”

  4. KW and Weitec -40mm Heavy Duty Springs

We recommend KW or Weitec for LWB workhouse Transporters and extensive camper conversions as these take more weight than the original springs (1490kg). They will however only lower your Transporter -40mm, so not for the lowrider boys!!!

KW spring kits are suited to lower your Transporter height -40mm. Besides the improved look, the lowered centre of gravity contributes to increased agility and driving pleasure. KW spring kits with a lowering up to -40 mm could be used with standard shock absorbers. Generally, it is recommended to use sport shock absorbers.

These are available as a Spring Kit for the T4 (2 rear springs) or a full Suspension Kit. For the T5 the Spring Kit consists of 4 springs and they only lower the T5 -30mm.
